Senior Superintendent I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Senior Superintendent to oversee field teams and coordinate work across multiple construction projects or large, complex projects.

Project Details

The role calls for experience with solar work or large industrial power projects and may involve multiple complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage site construction activities, work assignments, crews, and project logistics.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, and schedules with internal teams and project managers.
• Review plans for completeness and constructability, coordinate discrepancies with engineers, and maintain project and look-ahead schedules.
• Plan site utilization, crew sizes, formwork, and equipment; lead preconstruction sessions and site meetings.
• Coach and evaluate field personnel, support hiring and career development, and foster teamwork.
• Implement the site safety program and maintain relationships with customers, subcontractors, and other site visitors.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of construction experience and 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Experience with solar or oversight of large industrial power projects.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects, with working knowledge of construction law and standard business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and a current driver’s license.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $144,300–$216,500, with adjustments for certain office locations, and the role is eligible for an incentive plan.
