Senior Superintendent II

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Senior Superintendent II to direct field operations and supervise teams across multiple projects or large, complex construction assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction activities, allocate work, and coordinate crews, materials, equipment, and inspections to support project schedules.
• Partner with project managers on budgets and forecasts, review plans for constructability, and maintain project and short-term schedules.
• Coordinate with engineers to resolve plan discrepancies and oversee site layout, crew sizes, and formwork selection.
• Run preconstruction planning and site meetings, supervise crews, and coach field staff and emerging leaders.
• Manage site logistics and stakeholder relationships, support hiring and performance decisions, and implement the company’s safety program.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management; alternatively, 10 years of trade experience.
• At least 12 years of construction management or related experience.
• Current driver’s license and knowledge of construction law and standard business practices.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range is $164,300–$246,500, with higher ranges for specified office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
