Site Manager - Battery Storage - Georgia

Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Site Manager to lead construction and startup activities for a battery energy storage system project in Newnan, Georgia. The role directs site personnel, coordinates with the owner and project team, and manages field execution through commissioning and turnover.

Project Details

The project involves utility-scale battery energy storage construction, including battery enclosures, inverters, transformers, medium-voltage equipment, controls, SCADA interfaces, and related civil and electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Lead site management, construction planning, staffing, subcontractor coordination, and craft labor activities.
• Manage construction budgets, schedules, quality performance, materials, field purchases, and change-order support.
• Coordinate equipment installation, electrical balance-of-plant work, startup, energization, functional testing, and project turnover.
• Implement site safety, health, loss control, quality assurance, construction procedures, and project controls.
• Build effective relationships with owners, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, labor, and project partners.
• Mentor site personnel, support continuous improvement, and champion LEAN initiatives.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of construction management experience with a bachelor's degree, or 8 years without one.
• At least 3 years at superintendent level or above on large projects, or equivalent construction management experience on smaller projects.
• Preferred background includes 10 or more years on similar projects and experience with BESS, renewable energy, utility-scale electrical, substation, or power generation construction.
• Ability to work in demanding construction environments, including outdoor conditions, confined areas, heights, and shifts of up to 12 hours.
