Staff Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - Power Generation

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to provide advanced technical support for power generation engineering projects in Cary, North Carolina. The role combines independent design work, technical leadership, project coordination, and mentoring.

Project Details

Support power generation engineering assignments involving instrumentation and controls design, equipment and materials evaluation, engineering calculations, technical deliverables, and coordination across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex engineering deliverables, calculations, analyses, and technical recommendations.
• Coordinate work across internal and external project team members and help manage schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Review work produced by junior engineers and delegate tasks to support team development.
• Provide technical guidance, client support, and input to business development activities.
• Mentor engineering staff and contribute to knowledge management and continuous improvement.
• Support work-group procedures, corporate program adherence, timesheet approval, and expense report review as assigned.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• At least 5 years of related professional experience.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering methods independently and provide technical guidance on moderately complex projects.
• Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening and onboarding requirements.
