Superintendent I & II

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Superintendent at Level I or II to coordinate and supervise field teams, subcontractors, and craft work while supporting strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate materials, equipment, inspections, schedules, and site logistics.
• Review contract and construction documents for completeness and constructability, coordinating with design engineers and project partners.
• Lead, coach, and develop team members; oversee project partners and support staffing and performance decisions.
• Monitor progress, safety, quality, risk, and compliance while identifying improvements and addressing unfavorable conditions.

Required Experience

• Superintendent I: at least 5 years of construction management or related experience; Superintendent II: at least 8 years.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Current driver’s license, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and ability to manage multiple complex projects from development through closeout.
• Strong organization, communication, customer service, and team leadership skills; basic understanding of construction law and business practices.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $111,400–$167,100 for Superintendent I and $130,100–$195,200 for Superintendent II, with adjustments for specified office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
