Superintendent I & II

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Superintendent at Level I or II to coordinate field teams and construction activities, support customer relationships, and help deliver projects from development through closeout.

Project Details

The assignment begins in New Mexico and transitions to projects in the Denver area. Mortenson works across markets including sports, renewable energy, data centers, and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, inspections, schedules, and site logistics.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability, and coordinate plans with design engineers.
• Supervise and develop team members and project partners, including onboarding, training, performance management, and career development.
• Monitor work progress and task coding while managing safety, quality, risk, and compliance.
• Build effective working relationships and identify opportunities to improve project processes.

Required Experience

• Superintendent I requires at least 5 years of construction management or related experience; Superintendent II requires at least 8 years.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects, interpret construction documents, and use Microsoft Office at an intermediate level.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $111,400–$167,100 for Superintendent I and $130,100–$195,200 for Superintendent II, with actual compensation depending on experience and location. The position is eligible for an incentive plan.
