Job Summary

JE Dunn's Aptitude group is seeking a Traveling Aptitude Superintendent 2 to manage complex intelligent integration and low-voltage technology projects. The superintendent will coordinate trade partners, construction sequencing, project execution, safety, quality, and closeout activities.

Project Details

The role supports low-voltage technology scopes across multiple building markets, including structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, audiovisual, building automation, nurse call, infant security, RTLS, phone systems, and network electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned projects or project scopes from planning through completion, including schedule, production, quality, safety, risks, and costs.
  • Coordinate owners, design teams, authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.
  • Develop work plans, manage materials and equipment, and oversee self-performed work and labor productivity.
  • Maintain project schedules, drawings, logs, reports, inspections, timecards, and cost information.
  • Coordinate pathways, conduit, and back-box infrastructure before cabling and device installation.
  • Lead safety efforts, incident investigations, quality compliance, pre-punch work, and project closeout.
  • Configure and program project software for testing and troubleshooting when needed.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; a construction management, engineering, or related bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of construction experience and 5 years working with Division 8, 23, 25, 27, or 28 systems.
  • At least 3 years of field supervision experience; 5 years managing projects is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems, construction means and methods, project processes, blueprints, scheduling impacts, and labor productivity.
  • Intermediate MS Office, presentation, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work non-traditional hours as project needs require.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary is $117,236-$146,544, depending on experience, with eligibility for a target performance bonus. The position is professional non-union and may require travel or relocation.
