Traveling Field Engineer Oil, Gas, & Chemical (OGC)

Job Summary

Kiewit Energy is seeking a traveling field engineer to support major oil, gas, refining, chemical, petrochemical, biofuel, and other process-industry construction projects. Based in Baton Rouge for recruiting purposes, this full-time role may be assigned to job sites across the country and reports to the Project Manager.

Kiewit Energy delivers engineering, procurement, and construction services for complex energy and process facilities in cities and communities throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support field crews with drawing interpretation, quantity tracking, work packages, surveying, layout, and as-built documentation.
• Help prepare hazard analyses and participate in safety meetings, site reviews, and training.
• Coordinate labor, materials, deliveries, subcontractors, and jobsite work groups.
• Maintain schedules, daily records, photographs, RFIs, correspondence, cost data, change orders, and project reports.
• Assist with takeoffs, engineering calculations, technical drafting, subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, and estimating reviews.
• Supervise field operations and provide contract-administration and project-planning support to management.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• At least 2 years of related professional construction experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications and use Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organization, communication, time-management, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with teams, access all areas of active construction sites, and work in varied climates.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Reliable attendance, safe work practices, and willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.
