Traveling Mechanical Superintendent Oil, Gas, & Chemical (OGC)

Job Summary

Kiewit is seeking a traveling Mechanical Superintendent to lead field execution for oil, gas, chemical, refining, petrochemical, biofuel, and other process-industry projects. The role supervises field leadership and craft personnel while coordinating work with clients, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams.

Project Details

Kiewit Energy delivers engineering, procurement, and construction services across the U.S. OGC market. Assignments may require relocation to different project sites as business needs and career development plans change.

Responsibilities

• Direct field organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, quality, and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Lead and develop Foremen, General Foremen, Junior Superintendents, and craft personnel.
• Manage subcontractor coordination, contract administration, client meetings, issue resolution, and change-order negotiations.
• Monitor job costs, cash-flow projections, project completion, turnover, and daily field records.
• Complete personnel evaluations and recommend staffing, promotion, policy, and organizational changes.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of construction experience, including 5 or more years in a superintendent or leadership position; OGC experience is preferred.
• Strong capabilities in leadership, safety, planning, negotiation, communication, organization, and contract administration.
• Ability to work independently, learn company procedures and software, and resolve field problems effectively.
• Reliable attendance, professional teamwork, safe work practices, and willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
