Job Summary

JE Dunn Construction's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) is hiring a Traveling Project Manager to lead self-perform work on large-scale industrial, data center, and semiconductor construction projects across the country.

Project Details

The AFG team focuses on Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing projects. Work includes data centers, semiconductor fabs, and large industrial and manufacturing facilities nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction and leadership for an entire project or a major portion of a larger, complex project alongside the Project Superintendent.
  • Champion the company's safety culture and investigate incidents as needed.
  • Support preconstruction efforts including quantity takeoffs, scope development, bid package creation, and schedule development.
  • Lead subcontract buyout, pricing verification, gap analysis, and subcontract issuance.
  • Manage submittals, shop drawing reviews, and coordination with design teams and vendors.
  • Handle change request processes from pricing through owner/architect approval.
  • Lead monthly project reviews, OAC meetings, and progress meetings.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules using Lean principles in coordination with the Superintendent.
  • Develop monthly cost and margin forecasts, monitor budget performance, and report project status and profitability.
  • Lead overall project closeout including punch lists, financials, subcontracts, and warranties.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of construction management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in project management and accounting software, scheduling software, and construction technology (advanced level).
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and Lean process/philosophy.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license required.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work non-traditional hours as project needs demand.
