Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Five Star Electric, a Tutor Perini company, is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for its Ozone Park office to support electrical construction project delivery and report to a Project Executive.

Project Details

Five Star Electric delivers electrical construction and engineering work across the New York metropolitan area, including major transportation, civic, sports, and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning, scheduling, documentation, cost tracking, forecasting, and change orders.
• Coordinate procurement, deliveries, vendors, subcontractors, field teams, engineers, and clients.
• Review electrical drawings and specifications, process RFIs and submittals, and maintain project records.
• Participate in project meetings and site walks, support safety requirements, and help resolve field issues.

Required Experience

• A bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Five or more years in construction project coordination or electrical contracting is preferred; electrical contractor internship or field experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical construction, drawings, specifications, and project documentation is expected.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar tools is preferred or beneficial.
• Strong organization, multitasking, and written and verbal communication skills are required.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $70,000-$80,000, depending on experience.
