Assistant Project Manager - Healthcare Construction

Job Summary

McCarthy Building Companies is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support healthcare construction projects in Austin, Texas, working with the Project Manager and project team to deliver successful project outcomes.

Project Details

The role focuses on healthcare construction within McCarthy’s commercial building operations.

Responsibilities

• Support project schedules, cost controls, procurement, subcontracts, and project accounting.
• Track and process change requests, change orders, owner payment applications, and claims as applicable.
• Coordinate with project leadership and staff, support field reporting and quality processes, and help manage project closeout.
• Promote applicable safety and equal employment opportunity programs.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of construction experience on relevant projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction principles and practices, experience managing field staff, and ability to build relationships with owners.
• Strong teamwork and work ethic, demonstrated jobsite safety performance, and willingness to relocate within a region.
