Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Construction

Job Summary

Harris is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support HVAC construction projects and help maintain project standards, budgets, schedules, and communication.

Project Details

This opportunity is based in the Detroit, Michigan area for a new project scheduled for 2027–2029. Harris works across project types including stadiums, manufacturing facilities, power plants, hospitals, and schools.

Responsibilities

• Support site safety inspections, compliance, and safety documentation.
• Manage project documents, submittals, RFIs, meeting notes, quality records, drawings, and closeout materials.
• Help track scope changes, equipment procurement, rentals, shipping, labor productivity, and job costs.
• Assist with estimating, bid and turnover meetings, and proposal materials.

Required Experience

• At least two years of experience in the building and construction industry, mechanical systems, and business administration or management principles.
• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or construction management is preferred; related experience may also qualify.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range of $56,863.05–$85,294.57. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; a 401(k) with company match; vacation, sick time, and paid holidays; paid parental leave; and a Short-Term Incentive Plan.
