Civil Foreman

Job Summary

Ames Construction is hiring a Civil Foreman to lead field crews and oversee daily operations on heavy civil construction work.

Project Details

Initial assignments are in Cedar Rapids and nearby areas, with work on highways, roadways, and other heavy civil infrastructure. Later projects may be located nationally.

Responsibilities

• Supervise crews and promote safe, efficient field operations.
• Review plans and specifications, coordinate daily work and production schedules with project management, and oversee excavation.
• Apply survey and grade staking, complete foreman reports, and review and submit weekly timecards.
• Address field issues and communicate with superintendents, project engineers, and other team members.

Required Experience

• Foreman or supervisory experience in heavy highway or civil construction.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safe construction practices.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment, construction tools, plans, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather and perform physical tasks, including periodically lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
