Civil Superintendent

Job Summary

Lead civil construction crews and oversee field operations, safety, schedule, and budget for Ames Construction. The position is classified as safety-sensitive.

Project Details

The initial project is located in Hyrum, Utah, with later assignments potentially based elsewhere in the country.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect daily civil construction work, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and keep work aligned with project plans and schedule.
• Set subcontractor expectations, monitor performance, and coordinate project needs with management and employees.
• Maintain jobsite safety, security, documentation, meeting records, reports, photos, and logs.
• Interpret construction drawings, establish work procedures, manage schedules and two-week lookaheads, and communicate project details to clients.
• Provide physical field support when needed and address other tasks required to complete the work.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant construction discipline, such as construction management or engineering.
• At least seven years of commercial construction superintendent experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour certification and solid knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, layouts, and related documents; understand construction equipment and safe operating practices.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, strong communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to travel and work nights or weekends when needed.
