Consulting Manager, Asset Investment Planning

Job Summary

Black & Veatch is hiring a Consulting Manager to lead strategic asset management engagements focused on investment planning for electric utilities. The role combines project management, utility asset expertise, quantitative analysis, and client advisory work.

Project Details

Projects support gas and electric utilities with asset investment planning, portfolio optimization, risk assessment, benefit monetization, asset management plans, and program implementation. Work includes electric transmission and distribution assets, utility operations, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Manage asset investment planning projects, including resources, schedules, budgets, quality, and deliverables.
• Develop investment plans, prioritization models, risk analyses, value models, and business cases.
• Provide technical guidance on utility assets, asset management practices, and client solutions.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and alternatives.
• Lead client meetings and workshops and prepare presentations.
• Support business development and develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience.
• Typically 7 or more years of experience in a business or consulting environment.
• Experience in electric utility engineering, operations, and maintenance.
• Electrical engineering and electric distribution experience, consulting experience with electric utilities, a Professional Engineer license, and an IAM Certificate in Asset Management are preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The Minnesota annual compensation range is $125,055-$208,845. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, wellness programs, paid time off, a company-matched 401(k), and employee ownership through a 100% ESOP. A performance-based bonus may also be available.
