Earthwork Foreman - Night Shift

Job Summary

Supervise earthwork crews and coordinate excavation and grading operations for heavy civil construction in Brownsville, Texas.

Project Details

Work may involve highway and street construction, drainage ditches, and dams.

Responsibilities

• Set out construction boundaries using reference points and measurements.
• Direct crews operating equipment to excavate, move, spread, and grade soil.
• Check grades and surface contours with a hand level.
• Depending on the assignment, oversee paving, fine grading, or culvert and drainage installation crews.

Required Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Two to four years of job-specific training and experience are indicated for average performance.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, follow safety practices and instructions, and accurately judge distances and slopes.
• Ability to work in dusty conditions, perform physical tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds.
