Job Summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Superintendent to lead field execution for a conventional power generation construction project in Newnan, Georgia. This full-time staff position requires mobilization to the site for the duration of the project.

Project Details

The role supports industrial power generation construction and coordinates electrical craft, subcontractors, field engineering, and other discipline superintendents. Union or union-management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct electrical foremen, general foremen, subcontractor supervision, and field engineers.
  • Monitor safety, quality, productivity, cost, installed quantities, and schedule performance against project requirements.
  • Develop three-week look-ahead schedules, corrective action plans, work plans, and job hazard analyses.
  • Coordinate material, labor, equipment, work packages, equipment installation, punch lists, and technical information requests.
  • Lead foreman and subcontractor planning meetings and maintain daily site records.
  • Administer subcontract execution, review timesheets and progress payment requests, and identify extra work or potential back-charge issues.
  • Support labor relations, union agreement compliance, safety programs, training, and performance management.

Required Experience

  • At least 11 years of experience as a superintendent or construction manager on equivalent projects.
  • Electrical superintendent experience on conventional power generation projects is strongly preferred.
  • Union construction or union-management experience, including knowledge of local agreements and jurisdictional issues, is preferred.
  • Construction management or engineering degree and training in industrial relations, cost control, scheduling, construction management, or contract administration are preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification and a valid driver's license are required.
  • Ability to work safely in challenging outdoor conditions, climb ladders and scaffolds, and lift up to 50 pounds.
