Job Summary

Lead day-to-day field operations for Tutor Perini’s new Brooklyn jail construction project, overseeing safety, schedule, quality, security, and compliance.

Project Details

The approximately $3 billion project involves a new 1,040-bed correctional facility with community, educational, workforce development, and recreation spaces, plus a court tunnel connection and below-grade parking.

Responsibilities

• Direct site construction and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews.
• Oversee site security protocols and coordinate with law enforcement, facility officials, and security consultants.
• Monitor workmanship, conduct inspections, document quality activities, and resolve deficiencies.
• Maintain field schedules and prepare daily reports, logs, photos, and progress updates.
• Enforce safety requirements through toolbox talks, inspections, and incident reporting.
• Coordinate with project management, inspectors, owners, and other project stakeholders.

Required Experience

• 20+ years of superintendent experience in commercial or institutional construction; correctional facility experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems, with experience in complex, secure, or high-risk environments.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety regulations and proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or Bluebeam.
• High school diploma required.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $250,000-$300,000, depending on experience.
