Job Summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Solar Leadman 1 in Mulberry, Florida, to support photovoltaic construction and develop the skills needed to coordinate craft crews safely and efficiently.

Project Details

The role supports ground- or roof-mounted solar photovoltaic installations, including civil, mechanical, structural, and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, and install solar modules, panels, support structures, labels, weather sealing, and related hardware.
• Use hand and power tools, drawings, schematics, plans, and specifications to complete quality installations.
• Identify installation deficiencies, field issues, hazards, and potential cost-saving measures, and report or correct them as appropriate.
• Learn to prepare foreman paperwork, including one-week schedules, crew goals, time cards, and daily safety planning.
• Coordinate with other crafts, mentor helpers and laborers, inspect work, and support corrective actions.
• Maintain clean work areas and participate in safety planning, incident reporting, investigations, and stop-work processes.

Required Experience

• At least two years of solar installer experience or an equivalent combination of construction education and experience.
• Working knowledge of solar photovoltaic system assembly, installation, or maintenance.
• Ability to read plans and specifications, follow directions, perform basic arithmetic, and visualize drawings in three dimensions.
• Must be at least 18 years old and provide the required solar installer tools.
• Preferred or applicable craft credentials include NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer, Electrician, Concrete Finishing, Carpenter, or Ironworker.
• Must be able to lift up to 52 pounds, climb steel framework, ladders, and scaffolds, and work outdoors in varying weather and temperatures.
