Project Engineer

Job Summary

Ames Construction is hiring a Project Engineer to support field execution and coordination on heavy civil infrastructure projects in West Valley City, Utah.

Project Details

Work involves active job sites and infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, utilities, and site development. Travel between sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning, schedules, budgets, cost tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
• Review temporary works and construction methods, providing technical support to crews and subcontractors.
• Inspect work, materials, and equipment; coordinate corrective actions and quality control.
• Track project progress and prepare daily reports, quantity records, and other documentation.
• Promote job-site safety and compliance with OSHA requirements and PPE rules.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
• At least two years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or in a similar heavy civil or highway construction role.
• Knowledge of civil construction methods, equipment, materials, OSHA requirements, and job-site safety practices.
• Strong organization, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays when project schedules require.
