Project Engineer

Job Summary

Support project delivery at Ames Construction by coordinating project controls, technical planning, and field operations.

Project Details

The initial project is in Hyrum, Utah. Ames works on heavy civil and industrial projects, including highways, bridges, mines, dams, and rail. Later assignments may be located nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Review design documents, contracts, bids, subcontracts, materials contracts, and permits.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders under the Project Manager’s supervision.
• Track budgets, costs, project performance, and forecasts in collaboration with the operations team.
• Provide technical support, participate in constructability reviews and pre-planning, and help ensure work follows codes, plans, and specifications.
• Monitor construction progress and schedules, delegate tasks, and support inspections and compliance documentation.

Required Experience

• At least two years of construction experience or a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, multitasking, prioritization, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with project-control and administrative software, including Microsoft applications and Outlook; Primavera knowledge preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to perform physical work in a construction-site environment.
