Project Engineer

Job Summary

Ames Construction is hiring a Project Engineer to support heavy civil construction projects and assist project managers and superintendents with project delivery.

Project Details

Work may involve large-scale infrastructure development, including highways, bridges, utilities, and site development.

Responsibilities

• Help manage daily project operations and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Monitor progress, maintain project records, and prepare reports.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to support timely delivery of materials and services.
• Assist with quality control, job-site safety, cost tracking, budgeting, and schedule updates.
• Provide technical support and help address construction challenges.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Understanding of construction principles and project management fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
