Project/Field Engineer

Job Summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is hiring a Project/Field Engineer in Tempe to support project managers and superintendents with field coordination, project tracking, and construction issue resolution.

Project Details

AP serves commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, municipal, data center, and senior living markets.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, review shop drawings, and help coordinate subcontractor agreements.
• Track field requests, changes, schedules, costs, budgets, materials, and project progress; prepare reports and recommend solutions.
• Support bid packages, estimates, change orders, punch lists, project meetings, and client and subcontractor communications.
• Help implement jobsite safety and quality programs and monitor compliance.

Required Experience

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field, or relevant construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret building plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera, and Prolog.
• OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain it, along with company safety requirements.
• Project accounting, contracts, design, estimating, field supervision, value engineering, life-cycle costing, and sustainability experience are preferred.
• Must be able to travel to project sites up to 70+ miles away and meet the role’s physical and jobsite climate demands.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated pay is $64,000-$96,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; HSA and flexible spending accounts; 401(k); paid time off and holidays; tuition assistance; and an employee referral bonus.
