Project Engineer I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Project Engineer I to support project coordination, documentation, quality management, and field execution alongside project teams.

Responsibilities

• Interpret construction documents for subcontractors and craft teams, and help implement quality plans and inspections.
• Maintain permits, project logs, testing records, contract documents, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout materials.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, customer and architect reviews, and project schedule requirements.
• Track non-conforming inspection results, support safety and compliance, and help maintain construction schedules.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management.
• At least two years of related construction experience.
• Current driver’s license and ability to organize multiple tasks.
• Working knowledge of construction law and business practices, along with strong teamwork, communication, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $84,100–$113,500, with higher ranges for certain office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision and dental coverage, a 401(k) with company match, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, adoption assistance, and other programs.
