Experienced Field Engineer - Civil

Job Summary

Mortenson seeks an experienced civil Field Engineer to coordinate field activities and support project teams across construction phases. The role is based at project sites nationwide, with a 5-day rotation home every 3 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, project documents, subcontractors, and pre-mobilization planning.
• Support construction quality, material receiving and inventory, inspections, drawings, production tracking, and equipment coordination.
• Prepare closeout records, support final inspections, and maintain project schedules.
• Participate in safety audits and the company’s safety program.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, engineering, or a related science or mathematics field, or equivalent education and substantial technical or field experience.
• Strong organization, communication, teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of construction law and business practices; current driver’s license.
• Related internship experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $78,800-$98,500, with higher ranges for specified office locations. Eligible for the company incentive plan. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k) match, paid time off, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other support programs.
