Construction Electrical Project Manager I - Solar

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring an Electrical Project Manager I to lead project teams and deliver utility-scale solar construction work across the continental United States.

Project Details

Projects are utility-scale solar. This is a career position with assignments that may move to another project after completion.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project finances, cost projections, budgets, invoices, and owner billings.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, contract buyouts, and trade partner selection.
• Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, including assignments and career development.
• Support project quality, schedule, safety, customer relationships, and team performance.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.
• At least eight years of electrical construction management and/or electrical design experience.
• At least one year managing a project from mobilization through turnover.
• Medium- and high-voltage expertise, including electrical controls, substations, or transmission lines.
• Knowledge of NEC and NE safety code, construction law, and business practices.
• Utility-scale solar, self-perform, and SCADA experience are preferred.
• Current driver’s license, strong communication and leadership skills, and ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $125,600–$188,400, with higher ranges for certain listed office locations. The role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan. Benefits for eligible employees include medical, dental, retirement matching, paid time off, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other programs.
