Project Manager - Mechanical Construction

Job Summary

Harris is seeking a Project Manager I to support HVAC construction projects, with an opportunity in the Detroit area scheduled for 2027–2029. The position may require relocation to projects across the United States every 24 to 36 months.

Project Details

Work spans mechanical construction projects of varying sizes and complexity, including facilities such as stadiums, manufacturing plants, power plants, hospitals, concert halls, and schools.

Responsibilities

• Support safety compliance through site inspections, audits, safety plans, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
• Manage project documents, RFIs, submittals, meeting records, quality documentation, progress drawings, and closeout materials.
• Identify and negotiate change orders, help develop project schedules, and coordinate work plans, staffing, equipment, and procurement.
• Assist with estimating, track labor productivity and project financials, coordinate billing and collections, and participate in project reviews.
• Build client and contractor relationships and support sales and account growth.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Management Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of the construction industry, mechanical systems, construction documents, business administration, and design principles.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual pay range is $71,078.81–$106,618.22, with the offer based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location.
