Senior Field Engineer

Job Summary

Rudolph & Sletten is hiring a Senior Field Engineer for its Los Angeles or Irvine office to support field execution, quality control, documentation, and coordination with project teams.

Project Details

The company delivers large commercial projects across California, including healthcare, higher education, civic facilities, research centers, and technology campuses.

Responsibilities

• Interpret plans and specifications, coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, and verify completed work meets applicable requirements.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and mockups; address drawing conflicts and quality concerns; and prepare RFIs and field change documentation.
• Track field progress, quantities, schedules, productivity, and project records, including reports, punch lists, as-builts, and quality documentation.
• Support site safety, environmental controls, inspections, and compliance with OSHA requirements.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs, participate in job walks, and assist with change-order identification and value engineering.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or four years of construction management experience.
• At least five years of field experience as an entry-level Project Engineer.
• Large commercial project experience is desired, particularly in healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, or science and technology.
• Plan-reading skills, working knowledge of AutoCAD, and familiarity with scheduling, estimating, and cost software.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected annual salary range is $95,000–$130,000, depending on experience.
