Senior Field Engineer

Job Summary

Rudolph & Sletten is hiring a Senior Field Engineer for field operations in Menlo Park, California. The role supports construction execution, quality control, documentation, and coordination with project teams.

The company delivers large commercial projects across California, including healthcare, higher education, civic, research, and high-tech facilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications, review submittals and shop drawings, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Track field progress, quantities, productivity, schedule sequencing, and construction documentation.
• Prepare RFIs, field design changes, as-built drawings, punch lists, and status reports.
• Support quality control, investigate design conflicts, and help resolve construction issues.
• Promote jobsite safety, participate in inspections and job walks, and document findings.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or four years of construction management experience.
• At least five years of field experience as an entry-level Project Engineer.
• Plan-reading skills and familiarity with Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, AutoCAD, and scheduling, estimating, or cost software.
• Large commercial project experience is desired, particularly in healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, or science and technology.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $115,000–$145,000, depending on experience.
