Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

Rudolph & Sletten is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for its San Diego office. The role supports project management and field leadership with construction coordination, scheduling, documentation, and project controls.

The company delivers large commercial projects across California, including work in healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, and science and technology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate subcontractors, design teams, owners, and other project participants through meetings, site walks, and daily construction reviews.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change documentation, punch lists, and project closeout records.
• Review plans, specifications, and field conditions; resolve design conflicts and construction issues with project stakeholders.
• Track schedule, cost, delivery, and project-documentation risks, and prepare progress records and reports.
• Use Procore and other project tools to maintain logs, metrics, and document-control processes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support project setup, completion, and turnover.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least five years of related field experience.
• Experience with large commercial construction projects is desired, including healthcare, higher education, corporate campuses, justice, or science and technology work.
• Knowledge of surveying, engineering standards, construction methods, and blueprint reading.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills, and Bluebeam; working knowledge of Procore or similar construction software.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and estimating software, including Primavera P6.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $97,500-$115,000, depending on experience.
