Job Summary

Overland Contracting (a Black & Veatch company) is seeking a Civil Superintendent to lead field execution on simple cycle and combined cycle power generation construction projects in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This role oversees civil scopes including earthwork, concrete, foundations, and undergrounds, with direct leadership of craft teams, general foremen, and minor subcontractors.

Project Details

Work centers on combined cycle and simple cycle power generation facilities, covering site development, earthwork, grading, concrete foundations, duct banks, equipment pads, underground utilities, and related civil scopes on large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil construction execution across earthwork, concrete, foundations, undergrounds, and related civil scopes.
• Monitor field activities against the CPM schedule and report progress on milestones, installed quantities, and productivity.
• Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules and confirm labor, materials, and equipment are available when needed.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly planning sessions with foremen and craft leadership to align work plans and safety expectations.
• Track productivity, cost performance, and schedule progress; develop corrective action plans when targets are at risk.
• Develop and communicate Job Hazard Analyses for major work activities and enforce project safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate work plans with discipline superintendents, subcontractors, and the Construction Manager for integrated project execution.
• Maintain daily logs, review craft timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
• Support punch list planning and closeout readiness for craft and subcontractor work.
• Provide coaching, training, and development to general foremen, foremen, and craft professionals.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of construction field leadership on equivalent projects.
• Civil construction experience on power generation or large-scale industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience with earthwork, grading, concrete, foundations, undergrounds, and duct banks.
• Self-perform/direct-hire construction leadership experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, work packages, and schedules.
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices, work planning, and productivity tracking.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
