Structures Superintendent

Job Summary

Lead field delivery of structural construction, supervising crews and subcontractors while coordinating with project management to meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

Project Details

The initial project is in Hyrum, Utah, with subsequent assignments based nationally. Structural work may include foundations, concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, structural steel, precast, and bridge or heavy civil structures.

Responsibilities

• Direct structural field operations and coordinate installation sequences, materials, equipment, and trade interfaces.
• Review drawings and submittals; oversee concrete placement, inspections, testing, and punch-list work.
• Promote safe work practices, conduct daily huddles and job hazard analyses, and enforce site safety requirements.
• Maintain look-ahead schedules, track production, identify constraints, and document field progress.
• Coordinate with project leaders, engineers, and subcontractors, including participation in BIM and clash-detection meetings.
• Assign, supervise, mentor, and develop field crews, foremen, and apprentices.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; a construction or engineering degree or trade certification is preferred.
• At least seven years of structural or concrete construction experience, including three years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Experience with structural construction methods, including concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, structural steel, or bridge and heavy civil work.
• Knowledge of structural codes such as ACI and AISC; ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Proficiency with scheduling and field project software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, or Bluebeam.
• Understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety practices; OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
