Superintendent

Job Summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Superintendent to direct site operations, coordinate field teams, and help deliver construction work safely and on schedule in Belle Glade, Florida.

Project Details

Ames works on heavy civil and industrial construction, including highways, bridges, mines, dams, and rail. This project is based in Belle Glade, with future assignments potentially located nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Lead workers and subcontractors, organize schedules, and allocate labor and resources.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, suppliers, inspectors, and site teams on budgets, timelines, materials, and equipment.
• Track daily site activity, monitor work quality and safety, and adjust operations to meet project deadlines.
• Help prepare cost estimates, manage project scope, and apply efficient construction practices.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field, such as construction management or engineering.
• At least five years of construction management experience; superintendent experience is preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification, a valid driver’s license, and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
• Ability to read construction documents and use Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong leadership, planning, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently, support long-term assignments, and work nights, weekends, or holidays when needed.
