Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project leadership with coordination of safety, budgets, contracts, schedules, and trade partners. The initial assignment is on a large data center project.

Project Details

The initial project assignment is a large data center project. The role may also support scopes generally under $5 million or components of complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and track schedules, procurement, submittals, changes, and project close-out.
• Coordinate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, owners, designers, suppliers, and trade contractors.
• Track budgets, costs, cash flow, pay applications, and project changes.
• Support project meetings, risk assessments, estimating, quality control, and safety efforts.
• Review project plans for constructability and cost feasibility and help maintain project documentation.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering plus 2+ years of related project management experience; alternatively, an associate degree in construction management plus 4+ years of related experience.
• Knowledge of shop drawing submittals and the ability to read building plans and specifications.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, P6, Bluebeam, and Prolog.
• Current OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain it, along with company safety requirements.
• Ability to work in varied climate conditions, travel to project sites, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively.
• Exposure to legal and accounting topics, value engineering, and life-cycle costing is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated annual pay is $78,000-$124,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; HSA and flexible spending accounts; 401(k); paid time off and holidays; tuition assistance; and an employee referral bonus.
