Commissioning Project Manager - Mission Critical (Traveling)

Job Summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a traveling commissioning project manager to coordinate commissioning and project delivery for commercial data center construction.

Project Details

The role covers complex data center MEP systems and commissioning from L0 through L5, including owner-furnished, contractor-installed equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule L2 and L3 commissioning with vendors and trade partners, and support the client’s agent during L4 and L5 testing.
• Coordinate commissioning schedules, issue resolution, project communications, testing records, and closeout documentation.
• Track OFCI equipment from factory testing through procurement, delivery, installation, and startup.
• Review MEP submittals, RFIs, and procedures, and help integrate commissioning tasks into project schedules.
• Lead and mentor project staff, guide field teams, and promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience

• At least four years of construction project management experience focused on MEP systems in a data center environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of data center MEP systems and the L0–L5 commissioning lifecycle, including L2/L3 execution and familiarity with L4/L5 testing.
• Experience managing OFCI procurement, delivery, and installation; working knowledge of Procore and P6.
• Commissioning, building systems, or project management credentials such as CxA, CEM, PE, or PMP are a plus. Liquid cooling and high-density data center experience is also valued.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $100,000–$135,000, with potential commission or incentive compensation. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement and savings plans, paid time off, disability and life insurance, and education assistance.
