Electrical Superintendent I

Job Summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Superintendent I to plan and oversee electrical field operations, supervise field leaders and craft activities, and coordinate with project teams.

Project Details

The role covers electrical work involving collection systems, underground and overhead lines, grid connections, and substations, including installation, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical scope and oversee installation quality, resources, schedules, and subcontracted and self-performed work.
• Review drawings, constructability, and submittals with engineering, and verify materials and workmanship.
• Monitor trade partner safety practices and support the company’s injury-prevention program.
• Coordinate field communication, document safety and hazard trends, and assist with incident analysis.
• Coach and develop field personnel and maintain relationships with project visitors and trade partners.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years working with high- and medium-voltage equipment and cable, collection lines, and substation construction.
• At least 13 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in high- and medium-voltage cable installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of electrical testing methods, drawings, underground distribution systems, SCADA, transmission lines, and substation construction and commissioning.
• Current driver’s license.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $125,600-$188,400, with higher ranges for certain listed office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan. Benefits for eligible employees include medical, prescription, dental, retirement matching, paid leave, insurance, tuition reimbursement, and other programs.
