Project Manager - Commercial Construction

Job Summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a commercial construction Project Manager for its Florida team in West Palm Beach. The role partners with the Superintendent and project team to manage project administration and field execution.

Project Details

Relevant commercial project experience includes education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resort, and senior living construction.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain project schedules, track long-lead items, and monitor work against the approved scope.
• Negotiate and administer subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders; manage project buyout.
• Prepare status reports, owner billings, and financial risk assessments, and identify value-engineering opportunities.
• Coordinate preconstruction, safety planning, construction documents, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and scopes of work.
• Review contract requirements and budgets, identify design constructability concerns, and maintain effective project relationships.

Required Experience

• Five to ten years of construction project management experience, including commercial work for a general contractor.
• Experience with education, municipal, hospitality, aviation, resort, or senior living construction.
• Knowledge and application of Lean principles.
• Strong project leadership, communication, organization, negotiation, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook; ability to learn job-specific software.
