Job Summary

Guide regional safety performance for The Weitz Company's Industrial Business Unit, supporting project teams and business leaders in applying company safety standards and managing risk.

The role supports industrial construction, including power generation projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project-specific safety plans aligned with regulations, industry practices, and company standards.
• Support and oversee safety professionals, committees, and business leaders; prepare safety performance reports.
• Contribute to high-hazard preconstruction reviews, project safety plans, and job safety analyses.
• Conduct audits, training, and claim management; support crisis response and regional budget oversight.
• Stop work when operations present imminent danger, and maintain OSHA 500 currency every three years.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, construction, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience as a safety manager, safety engineer, or safety professional, with extensive safety or construction experience.
• Safety certifications are encouraged: OSHA 500, OSHA 510, CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CIH.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and reporting skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
