Regional Safety Director

Job Summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction is seeking a Regional Safety Director to lead regional safety operations and advance its Incident and Injury Free culture.

Project Details

AP serves commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, municipal, data center, and senior living markets across offices in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, North Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming.

Responsibilities

• Direct the regional safety program, establish performance goals, and report safety results to regional and executive leaders.
• Lead safety training, orientations, audits, inspections, incident prevention, and responses to agency inspections.
• Manage regional safety staff, claims, incident investigations, subcontractor safety reviews, and safety-related policies.
• Coach project teams and promote safe work practices, emergency readiness, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational or industrial safety, safety management, construction management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 12–15 years of progressive safety and health program experience, including construction safety leadership.
• Experience with government inspections and audits, safety budgets, safety regulations, and Microsoft Office and safety data platforms.
• OSHA 30 Construction and First Aid/CPR/AED required. OSHA 500 Trainer card required or obtainable within 12 months.
• CSP preferred; ability to obtain a relevant safety certification within 12 months.
• Frequent regional travel and work in varied weather conditions are required.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated pay is $129,000–$213,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, HSA, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, PTO, holidays, tuition assistance, and an employee referral bonus.
