Safety Manager (Foundations)

Job Summary

Veit is seeking a Safety Manager to strengthen safety practices across its foundation and specialty construction operations. The role plans and oversees safety programs, employee training, and compliance across job sites, facilities, fleet, and field operations.

Project Details

Veit’s work includes foundations, earthwork, utilities, marine services, industrial cleaning, cured-in-place pipelining, and waste disposal.

Responsibilities

• Investigate incidents, near misses, workers’ compensation matters, and property damage; identify causes and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop site-specific safety programs and health and safety plans, conduct audits, and deliver training and orientations.
• Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, DOT, and other applicable requirements.
• Maintain safety records, manage air-monitoring instruments, and help identify protective equipment needs.
• Improve safety procedures and provide backup coverage for the Safety Coordinator.

Required Experience

• At least two years of experience in construction, waste, or transportation.
• OSHA 30 certification and working knowledge of safety and environmental practices.
• Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Preferred: safety-related bachelor’s degree; OHST, CHST, or CSP; OSHA 500; Confined Space, HAZWOPER, DOT, or MSHA training; and a Class A or B CDL with current medical card.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary of $86,000–$112,500, with compensation dependent on location, skills, and relevant experience.
