Traveling General Superintendent (Foundations)

Job Summary

Veit is hiring a Traveling General Superintendent to oversee foundation field operations and ensure work meets safety, quality, budget, and schedule requirements.

Project Details

This role supports foundation work while traveling throughout the Midwest, with frequent visits to active jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field operations, crew mobilization, labor, materials, schedules, and project documentation.
• Enforce safety requirements, monitor work and materials for quality, and manage costs, budgets, change orders, and production.
• Lead and develop Foundation Project Superintendents, Foremen, and other field staff; support training and performance management.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, and communicate project status to leadership.
• Ensure crews follow applicable local, state, and federal requirements and support project startup, meetings, and closeout.

Required Experience

• At least 10 years of superintendent experience overseeing construction work, specifically foundations.
• HAZWOPER, OSHA 10-hour, OSHA 30-hour, Excavating Safety Training, Confined Space, Blueprint Reading, CPR, and First Aid credentials, or ability to obtain them.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, iPad, and iPhone; HCSS software experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Union affiliation or willingness to join a union if necessary; willingness to travel 75–100%.
