Superintendent (Demolition)

Job Summary

Veit is hiring a demolition superintendent to direct daily site operations and field personnel, ensuring work meets safety, design, budget, and schedule requirements.

Project Details

The role supports heavy industrial demolition projects across the Midwest, with frequent regional travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workforce, equipment, crews, and subcontractors with general superintendents and project teams.
• Monitor schedules, subcontractor performance, work quality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Lead job hazard meetings, safety briefings, stretching, and toolbox talks; address hazards and document incidents.
• Maintain daily records, including logs, equipment and material schedules, and timecards.
• Manage field staff, address performance concerns, and participate in project planning and site meetings.
• Communicate project needs, issues, and operational impacts to company leadership.

Required Experience

• Five to ten years of heavy industrial demolition experience.
• OSHA 30-hour training, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, and First Aid.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications, coordinate work, communicate clearly, and use Microsoft Office, an iPad, and an iPhone.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a union role. Hourly rates and benefits vary based on location, experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements. Union craft benefits include a 401(k) and Employee Assistance Program.
