Safety Manager I

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a Safety Manager I to guide safety programs across multiple construction projects and provide leadership to project teams and safety staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of the company’s safety program across project sites and support teams in developing electrical safety plans.
• Identify training needs, deliver safety orientations and electrical training, and lead train-the-trainer sessions.
• Review safety submittals, participate in subcontractor planning meetings, and monitor subcontractor work for safety risks.
• Mentor safety personnel, maintain and analyze safety records and OSHA reports, conduct site audits, and assist with major incident reviews.

Required Experience

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent, plus at least six years of construction safety experience.
• Alternatively, a high school diploma, CHST certification, OSHA 500, ten years of construction experience leading crews and planning work, and six years in a dedicated construction safety role may qualify.
• CSP certification is preferred. A current driver’s license, Microsoft Office and safety software skills, and ability to travel up to 100% are required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $100,100–$150,200, with higher ranges for certain listed office locations. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
