Senior Field Engineer

Job Summary

Frontier-Kemper-Tutor Perini is hiring a Senior Field Engineer for its Manhattan Tunnel Project in New York City. The position supports planning, coordination, and field execution on a major tunnel construction project.

Project Details

The role is based on the Manhattan Tunnel Project, part of the Hudson Tunnel Project. The design-build work includes twin tunnels beneath the Hudson River and an access shaft that will serve as a ventilation facility, supporting rail connections between New York and New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction schedules, subcontractors, material procurement, work plans, and pre-construction meetings.
• Monitor field work, verify layout and technical requirements, and coordinate with design engineers as needed.
• Track subcontractor and supplier documentation, payment records, progress reporting, schedule updates, and project issues.
• Support change management, quality checks, permitting, and project closeout.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least five years of civil construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction safety, applicable federal and OSHA requirements, project controls, cost accounting, estimating, forecasting, and contracts.
• Working knowledge of critical path scheduling, Microsoft Office, and Primavera P6.
• Experience on large urban heavy civil projects with public-sector clients is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Expected salary range is $120,000–$170,000, depending on experience.
