Senior Project Manager

Job Summary

Adolfson & Peterson Construction seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee project delivery, partnering with the Superintendent to manage safety, contracts, budgets, schedules, and trade contractors. Projects may be valued up to $15 million or involve designated portions of larger projects.

Project Details

AP serves commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily, municipal, data center, and senior living markets. The position is based in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams and coordinate with owners, designers, superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Manage schedules, submittals, procurement, contract changes, quality, closeout, and project documentation.
• Review constructability, assess project risks, support preconstruction, and coordinate subcontractor buyout and scope definition.
• Oversee budgets, costs, cash flow, pay applications, payment approvals, and project financial reporting.
• Promote safe work practices and support the company's Incident and Injury Free culture.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or a related field and at least 6 years managing construction projects over $5 million; alternatively, an associate's degree in construction management and at least 8 years of relevant project management experience.
• Proficiency with scheduling, spreadsheets, cost control, and project management software. Prolog, Microsoft Project, P6, Procore, and Bluebeam are a plus.
• Understanding of value engineering, life-cycle costing, project financial processes, and multiple contract types, including CMR and Design-Build.
• Current OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain it, along with required company safety qualifications.
• Ability to travel and work in varying climate conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated pay is $116,000-$192,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance, a health savings account, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, paid time off, holidays, tuition assistance, and an employee referral bonus.
