Superintendent/Foreman (Utilities)

Job Summary

Veit is seeking a Superintendent/Foreman to direct daily site operations and field personnel for utility construction work in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing, equipment, crews, subcontractors, and schedules with project leadership.
• Maintain safe work practices, conduct job hazard meetings and toolbox talks, and keep employees current on safety procedures.
• Track daily logs, equipment and materials, and timecards; report incidents and workplace issues promptly.
• Inspect work and materials for quality, and participate in project planning and site meetings.
• Lead field staff, address performance issues, and support employee training.

Required Experience

• Two to five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, Excavating Safety Training, Blueprint Training, CPR, and First Aid; OSHA 10 is preferred.
• Ability to interpret plans and specifications, communicate clearly, schedule field needs, and use Microsoft Office, iPad, and iPhone.
• Union affiliation or willingness to join the union is required; a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are also required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and be over age 18.

Compensation and Benefits

Hourly rate varies based on location, skills, experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements or prevailing wage requirements. Union craft benefits include a 401(k) and Employee Assistance Program.
