Traveling Senior Superintendent-Commercial-Energy Storage

Job Summary

Mortenson is hiring a traveling Senior Superintendent to lead field teams and coordinate construction work on complex projects across several states.

Project Details

The role supports energy storage, solar, and large industrial power projects, with assignments in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct construction activities, work assignments, crews, and site logistics.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other departments to align labor, materials, equipment, and inspections with the schedule.
• Develop and update project schedules, including three-week lookaheads, and review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
• Plan site use and crew sizes, manage project resources and forecasts, and lead preconstruction planning and site meetings.
• Coach and develop field personnel, maintain stakeholder relationships, and implement the project safety program.

Required Experience

• At least 15 years of construction experience and 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil or architectural engineering, or construction management; alternatively, 10 years of trade experience.
• Self-perform experience and a record leading projects of $1 million or more, including leadership of other superintendents.
• Experience with solar or large industrial power projects and complex, multiple-project assignments.
• Ability to plan ahead, work with craft teams and project managers, and forecast labor, equipment, and material requirements.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a current driver’s license, and ability to travel up to 100%.

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay is $144,300-$216,500, with location-based increases in certain markets. The position is eligible for an incentive plan.
