Project Engineer

Job Summary

McShane Construction Company is hiring a Project Engineer for a full-time, in-office role near Madison, Wisconsin. The position offers experience across project lifecycles and opportunities to build project management skills.

Project Details

Work supports multifamily, industrial, and commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, subcontractor proposals, scopes, and qualification materials during preconstruction.
• Coordinate RFIs, submittals, procurement, drawings, meeting records, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
• Support contract review, insurance compliance, job cost reporting, owner payment applications, and resolution of project issues.
• Help prepare and update project schedules and track quality assurance and inspection requirements.
• Contribute to project safety plans, jobsite orientations, and weekly safety audits.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field; internship experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills for working with clients, design consultants, and trade partners.
• Proficiency with Salus, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must live within one hour of Madison, Wisconsin; relocation is not offered.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and authorization to work in the United States required.

Compensation and Benefits
