Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support project delivery, apply company processes, and assist project teams with commercial construction work.

Project Details

The initial assignment is on-site at an industrial warehouse project in Salinas through approximately June 2027. The next assignment will be in California, likely Southern California.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and track RFIs, shop drawings, drawing reviews, project plans, and punch-list activities.
• Coordinate vendor and subcontractor deliveries, site logistics, permits, inspections, safety procedures, and project quality planning.
• Support project schedules, construction meetings, procurement, bid evaluations, change pricing, billings, invoices, and subcontract administration.
• Assist with estimates, quantity takeoffs, budgets, subcontract awards, project status reviews, profit projections, and closeout under supervision on selected small projects.
• Review owner contracts and support milestone meetings with the Project Manager.

Required Experience

• Four-year degree in construction management or a related field, or a two-year construction certificate with at least four years of industry experience.
• Approximately two or more years of commercial construction experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar role; design-build experience is expected.
• Knowledge of estimating, cost control, material pricing, construction drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems.
• At least six months of jobsite experience before moving to a Project Management or Field Career Path.
• Ability to communicate effectively, take responsibility, and work comfortably with current technology.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $78,900-$98,600, depending on factors including location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement and savings benefits, paid time off, insurance, educational assistance, and wellness and family programs.
